Wifi is a useless marketing function. What's wrong with plugging in and getting on with the business of listening to music?

I have the 30GB Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. I spent $180 3 years ago and have had no problems.

As asked above, how's the sound quality and interface compared with an ipod?

Remember, Creative has ZERO customer support. If you buy one and it doesn't work, take it back to the store for a refund or replacement. Do not send it to Creative. This is true of any product. Be especially suspect of companies like Samsung who include a paper with their products telling you not to take them back to the store. You will wait months and it will come back just the way you sent it. Take it back to the store and let them deal with the company.

#11, my wife's Zen is far better sound quality than iPod. It also seems easier to load with music and other files (does not require iTunes). The Zen earphones are decent sound, but we switched to some higher end Sony earbuds for comfort and a slight improvement in sound quality.

Also, the screen on hers is amazingly clear and colorful. The battery lasts quite a while and hasn't changed in the last 2 years or so. She has the Vision M though, and I'm not sure how that compares to this one.

I just ordered the Zen X-Fi 8 GB, thanks for the coupon! The research I've done (1st MP3 player) indicates that the X-Fi sound quality is much better than the previous generation of Zens, as are the EP-830 earphones. There are few negatives in the customer reviews, am looking forward to trying the Zen X-Fi.
