How is a sound card refurbished? Did somebody rip off some capacitors and send it back or something?

x-fi just adds a bunch of garbage noise to your music. Get a Turtle Beach, your $50 will be much happier spent.

#4, that's not garbage noise, it's your shitty music.

This is a great card if you're a gamer; I bought mine new on eBay for $40 so if you don't want refurbished you know where to look for...

Mine works, but only for 2.1 or 4.1 systems. Not saying this is the cases with all their X-fi Xgamer refurbs, because it probably isn't, but you never know, and that 90 day warranty isn't great.

The sound quality for 2.1 is very good though (so other than the front/center sub port not working, I can't complain really), and the EAX effects are fun to play around with. I bought mine about 6 months ago from newegg for $56, but next time I buy a soundcard I won't be cheaping out and I'll go high end.

This is a nice inexpensive solution though.
