Hittin' the bottle a little early Ben?
Posting something as expired as soon as it goes on the board?
BTW, it's coming up ok on the egg's site.

How the hell do you "refurbish" a circuit board?

    You pee on it.

This thing still has shitty Vista support... and XP support.

    Save your money.

Maybe describing a product as refurbished allows companies like Creative to sell cheaper than the retailers they supply to, without upsetting them.

They always have circuit repair technician there to refurb the product. However most of return items are good working condition. But by law, once product returned for any reason- they cannot sell it as new items. Those "tested good" product become white box or refurb product. Thanks for American customer...

This sound card had serious compatibility problems with my Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe / Wireless Edition motherboard. I sold it on E-bay after failing to get any reasonable technical support from Creative. Just do good research before you buy this.

BTW: I had bought this brand new about this price AR 2 years ago.

I have the X-Fi Platinum and love it. I think the only difference between this one and mine is the front panel that comes with mine.

I also bought mine refurbished and have had zero problems..

These things just aren't what they used to be imho. Onboard sound has gotten considerably better over the years. Plus Creative's driver fiasco with charging for driver updates for Audigy products (although it's free now after many bitchin' about it) turned me off to them.
