I have the Zen and I love it. My only complaint is that there aren't many accessories available at stores. Accessories can be found that their website.

The majority of reviews I have seen give the Creative players the edge over Ipod in sound quality. How big an edge I'm not sure. Although I'm a Creative Zen owner, I don't think anyone has matched the ipod's ergonomics.

The choice really comes down to whether you want to be able to play WMA (not on ipod) or AAC (not on Zen), they both play mp3s.

i'd still prefer the iPods over any other mp3 players. even if the battery on the iPods die after like two or three years of extensive use.

      I like mine - it's red!
      Ok seriously...
The controls are a little touchy even when turned down to the lowest setting - there's no real or simulated tactile feedback. I tend to overshoot the menu item that I'm trying to get at. Not as good of battery life as the Sansa e280 (I like the wheel on that too). Of course it's flash not the micro drive. But the creative is easier for me to set up playlists. And, I like that it takes a standard mini-usb cable instead of whatever that thing the Sansa uses. Anyone know if the Sansa e200 (series) is the same as the Ipod Nano (or other model)? I want to find an inexpensive spare cable for my Sansa.

I hate that the ipod doesn't last longer than +/- 2 years. I'm not up on what else is out there, what's the general concensus on which, if any, product is better? I do love the ipod control pad, the wheel is awesome. Is anything else as easy to use?

It looks ok, but it's a bit on the chunky side. when they made it shorter and skinnier, all the weight went to its backside. I recommend you play with a live one before purchasing, or take advantage of the return policy.
