2GB = disposable. Don't buy anything less than 8. I just don't think you get any value in this. I used to think 4GB was enough for me but after owning the player for a while you tend to build up random songs and not clear out the old ones you don't like. Maybe I'm just lazy, but more space is definitely better.
Not a big fan of the low-end, no-frills MP3 players. 2 GB is a bit low (4 GB is about as low as I'd want to go). I guess the price is right if you need something now.
For this kind of money, it is kind of disposable. But I don;t see that as necessarily bad. If you take it out cycling, running, skiing, or other outdoor activities, it could get lost, wet, smashed or something like that. I sure wouldn't be taking an iPod Touch out for anything like that for fear of braking or losing it.
I own the very first version of this (only 1 gb) and it works great. Simple to use, no frills, works just like a flash drive in terms of file transfer (no iTunes type software necessary) and makes a great gym companion if you don't mind having a relatively small selection of music. It's really small too.
