I highly recommend this player. It's got a beautiful screen and supports many formats. Controls are easy enough to use and comes with cable to output to a TV and seperate AC adapter.

Check out http://www.acc.umu.se/~individ/kawaiiriver/ for a useful utility for converting videos for use on the Zens. Another one for DVDs is FairUseWizard: http://fairusewizard.com

Anyone know what the biggest size hard drive you can put in to this yourself is? I need something for professional photo storage in the field, but also really want something that plays DIVX/XVID/MP3/etc, and this sounds perfect. Except 30 and 60gb is too small. (heck, I shoot with 8gb and 4gb cards and when shooting RAW I easily fill them both.)

Also, does anyone know if the UI on the device itself gives you the capability to delete files from the device itself WITHOUT a computer involved? I need this because... at the beginning of a trip the device is loaded with video, and as I watch it I want to delete it to free up the space for the photos I'll be taking... so at the end of the trip the device is just full of photos. Sounds like a remarkably common use-case but for some reason most of the manufacturers have overlooked that... especially Apple. An ipod would be perfect except (at least last time I checked) you can't delete anything from the ipod without a computer...

I have this unit and love it. YES you can delete files from the Zen W without computer connection. There is a side menu allows that function as well as several others.

As for pic capacity, this player also accepts CF cards, and with optional card reader can use other formats too.

The Zencheruboomputer connection was a pain. Glad to hear you can delete it.
