What will the price be on this a year from now? 3 years from now?

It will be cheaper the first 2 years then a massive disaster will kill chip production and make them more expensive then they are now. You have been warned.

In 9 months time the financial default of Greece will cause the entire financial system to destabilize.
After that, money becomes worthless and all that matters is food & water, shelter and the ability to defend those things. Stockpile foodstuffs in your bunker while there's time left.

this wouldn't get cheaper, it would be obsolete as they will be producing a different SSD technology by then. If it were a particular adapter type it would actually become more expensive (like DDR2 is now). But since these interfaces are now on the most part backward compatible that should not be an issue unless the future SSDs warrant something SATA interfaces cannot do. Who knows.
