Thank you for the post. I am in the market for some memory for the computer. (not to mention I will be looking to upgrade computer 3 in the near future.
I've been using this RAM in a DAW build for awhile now, I'm quite impressed with it. Good find.
Anyone have tried overclocking this to 900mhz(7200)? I'm in the market for some good cheap overclockable DDR2 800 ram.. CAS 4 looks good. Just wondering if anyone had luck overclocking this.
Is there a correlation between CAS numbers and overclockability? In other words do low CAS numbers mean more overclocking head room? I didn't think so but could be wrong..
$5 cheaper yesterday on this site from a better store! Shouldn't Big Daddy Ben link to the better deal?

I agree
great. thanks for the link #5! the newegg reviews answered my OC'ing question as well..
#4, from what I was told, you can bump up the CAS and voltage to make it more stable when you OC the ram. ie if you want to run 800mhz CAS4 at higher speed, you can bump it up to CAS5.
here's a review from newegg which seems tp confirm the case..

Pros: These have fairly good OC capabilities, I am running 4 gigs at 900mhz with 444-12 timing for about a month on a Gigabyte MB, AMD X2 5200. very stable, passed all memtest everytime. tested it at 1000 with 555-15 with same results.

This is great memory. Crucial make some of the best memory you can get. I have 4GB of the crucial ballistix tracers in my main pc and have never had a problem with it. As mentioned earlier you can get a better deal from newegg.com .
This is great ram. I can't believe it's still around at these prices!
Great deal even at $29.....bought a set from buy.com. "F" NewEgg and their pricing schemes...out of stock then increasing the price.
I recommend you guys read and heed the "not so good" reviews at newegg...
My set just crapped out today after only 1 week of running in my rig.
BTW, Frys.com has'em at $18.99 AR...
#11.....thanks for the info. I had read the latest 'bad' reviews on NewEgg but since I've run this same memory on 2 other builds w/out issues I thought I couldn't go to wrong w/ the price and Crucials lifetime warranty. I always take other peoples "issues" in stride since alot of issues are from a lack of knowledge, ect.....ie: this memory runs at 2.2V Hopefully Crucial hasn't let their quality go down....could be a bad batch of ram.
