For $3 more, you can get the 2GB kit of Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM, with the same speed and timings as this RAM(PC2-6400, 44412). It has build in LED's that light up to indicate memory utilization, and looks good in a windowed case. link: http://bensbargains.net/deal/52792/

also, it's at newegg instead of Buy.com, if you happen to not like buy.com.

For $2 cheaper (after rebate as well) you can get a similar kit (2x1GB PC2-6400 4x12) from Corsair at ZZF.

Both kits have the same timings and, from what I've read, perform about the same. Both also have lifetime warranties. Choice really just comes down to which brand you like better.

$35 after rebate is the cheapest I've seen these kits so far.

I bought this RAM from buy.com when it was $100 after a $50 rebate, and I never had a problem getting the rebate. So far the RAM has been great, but it scores the lowest out of my components in my Vista Experience Index at 5.6 which is still pretty good.

Novice question? Got a new Dell that takes pc2-6400 800mhz, should I be concerned about latency speeds? I'm not a heavy gamer. I've always used Kingston memory in the past but I have seen from several posts that Corsair is good and is far less expensive. Thanks

Well, corsair memory is good. As for the latency, it really doesn't impact performance very much. I doubt you would notice the difference between 44412 and 55515 memory. But, of course, at the same price, the 44412 RAM is faster.

Also, if you're buying memory for a dell computer, make sure that your Dell supports the higher voltage memory. If it doesn't, you'll have to use the 1.8V RAM, and that isn't on sale as much.
