Is Cuisinart coffee maker better than other brands like Mr.Coffee or Black ad Decker?

#1, I have this coffee maker. One of the big problems is that the lid is held on by a tab with two little prongs that snap into the carafe body. Eventually, from removing the lid to wash the carafe in the dishwasher, the tab snapped off the top. So, while it makes good coffee (at least to my taste), the design is flawed.

Oh, you mean just like just about every other coffee make in the history of the Universe?!?

#1, if you are looking for a really good coffee maker for the taste and aroma of a cup of coffee, try the basic model by Braun (in white color, about $30 at Linens n Things). The black color model has a 2-hour auto shut-off and is $20 more).

gotta agree with #4, Buy a Braun. Out of several brands including Betty Crocker, Mr. Coffee, Melita, those $5-15 jobs posted here, my old Braun made the best tasting cup of coffee.
Currently, I have a Delongi coffee/expresso machine gifted from my caffeinated Italian girlfriend. It's very good, but the Braun still tasted better.

Also, if taste is important, get yourself a stainless steel filter instead of using the paper ones. Good for the environment and better tasting coffee. If you can find one that is gold-plated stainless, even better. I shopped around and got one quite cheap. Paid for itself several times over if I bought paper filters.
