    I'm guessing 1085 is the model number because it's not the watts. And 3600 Joules is 1 watt for 1 hour. Which at most is 60 watts for 1 minutes. Which means that this thing couldn't power a whipped cream covered obama di|do.

    3600 joules is the supression rating, not the power rating.

    #1: absolute horsesh!t. Your analysis is gibberish. The specs for this model are very good (UL 1449 rating at 330v, 3 stages, clamping time <1 nanosecond), and the Joules rating is excellent. Seems like a great buy on an excellent surege supressor.
    And be advised, these things DO wear out (after repeated surges): the one you bought 5 years ago may still have the 'green light' (or whatever) but internally it's most likely shot.
