i really really need this puppy..sadly don't get paid till friday. I'd order 2 if i could.
750w out of 1285VA is a pretty sucky power factor, but, then again, it's not that uncommon out of consumer UPS systems. Still, I'd expect more like 850ish.
That said, this is a pretty decent price even for a 750w unit, and it's going to be more than adequate for most users.
Ugh, the cyberpowers are the crap of UPS's. If it's important, I wouldn't use these sucky things on it.
I have the 1500AVR (different model) and it works great. It is big though. The screen shows the input/output voltage, the load, and the estimated backup time. The light does not stay on. It will only light up if you press the gray button on the front. This is good for 1-2 computers and monitors for 10-15 min. I got mine for 165 so this model is a great price.
@baconman...baconman?? Anyway...
What is your justification for that comment. This particular model is quite well reviewed. The only negative comments out of 90 on newegg had to do with poor packaging and the fact that it doesn't work in Europe!
It seems to be of fairly high quality.
#1, you can't float a hundred bucks before Friday payday? You need more immediate items than this UPS, I'd say...
I have the 1500AVR as well - it seems to work fine - over the past few years I haven't had a problem. I can't say I've ever looked at the waveform out of it when it is running, but my computers don't freeze when using it, and have never been damaged, so I guess that is something!
#2, it's not power factor related, it is usually a matter of inadequate cooling or current capability in general, like battery voltage depression at full capable load. Note the difference in runtime at different load.
3 Minute 750W Full Load
12 Minute 375W Half Load
Whatever it's power factor is, if accurately rated you could at most power a load based on that factor and VA without it's overload circuit shutting it off, but it would run for shorter than the 3 minutes @ 750W.
I got the one that does the 810W full load and it does not even blink when the power goes off. With a high end system with 2 28inch monitors with the router hooked it will run for over 14 minutes. So I have liked the unit.
Your post is very strange #9, in theory it should not be able to do that unless it isn't actually supplying the reported wattage, or you upgraded the battery.
