I have one and it works great in RAID1. You do have to upgrade the firmware before installing HDs larger than 1TB. It's simple and takes about 10 minutes.

Would be great if I could find a pair of 8TB drives to go in this! Sadly not big enough. Nice box though, friend has one and had been very reliable.

This and DNS-323 are nice and VERY hackable ... but if you want to keep the HD encrypted, you will need to look for a different solution.

#4 that's why they make RAID5 arrays. Five 2TB dives would do the job. Wink

I just picked this up Monday to replace the Netgear SC101T. It's not as fancy-looking, but it's quieter and it WORKS with Windows 7 (remember to upgrade the firmware).

#6 I already have 8 1.5TB and 5 1TB in raid, wanting something in a 2 drive variety. Smile Its great in the winter, but to warm in the summer.

good nas - just keep in mind that adding a new drive to any of Dlink DNS3XX will wipe out your old drives:

#8 I know what you mean. My home PC has 2 500MB drives in HW RAID1 and 4 1TB drives in HW RAID5 and it's like a space heater.

Nice box. I have one (2x750 raid 1) hacked with funplug to run Firefly media server and it works really well.

Using an older motherboard with SATA, two 1.5TB drives with Karens Replicator. No RAID, works great. Nothing propritary, NFS, etc. Running media server software. Only issue, uses more power than the little boxes.
