Nob question. Yes, I know I can access to any file/ folder in this box from any computer of my home network. Can I remotely see it from my computer at work? Thanks.

#4 from your home network you can view it with My Network Places or Map it as a local drive.

Over the internet, you could remote desktop into a local machine at home to just view the files. For transfers you can enable the internal FTP server on the Dlink. To get to your home address you would need to enable the Dynamic DNS service on the Dlink (or have a static Internet IP) and have the port forwarding enabled on your router to get into your local network.

I have this and it works. But transfer speeds were too slow for my taste, so I'm planning on returning it to amazon. Was acheiving only 12-13 MBps (MegaBytes/sec). I looked on the help forms and reviews and this was the normal speed, so it's not my setup (gigaport switch, cat6 cables).

I was planning on using this to stream HD content over the network, but it's just too slow. My desktop computer can stream it faster to my HTPC than this can.

I heard the DNS-343 has faster network speeds but it cost a lot more.

#3 newegg has it cheaper but not with free shipping so it ends up costing more, plus its not in stock through them.
