G4 had a review on this not too long ago. Mostly positive, but there were some hangups on the navigation through menus and some issues with the controller
The Boxee Box uses the Intel chip that supports HD Audio bitstream. I think Boxee is the first device to support this with the Intel Chip (CE4100), but the HD Audio support has been iffy (audio dropouts with DTS MA and TrueHD being converted to LPCM)
i have had a boxee box for a while now. they just recently added netflix support. netflix itself was coming "soon" for about 6 months so i'm not sure how long it will take them to get hulu plus on here.
the biggest advantage to me is that it can play damn near any file format i throw at it. havent actually found one that *doesnt* work yet.
the remote is really good, except that it is perfectly rectangle, meaning i get it reversed and press the wrong button a lot. its RF so it doesnt work with my harmony remote. i hear it supports standard USB IR remotes, but haven't tried any. i'd rather deal with two remotes than have to use a poorly implemented version through my harmony.
anyone know if this does hulu? And if it does do you need hulu plus or can you use regular hulu
yeah but its a hack to get the regular hulu workin http://lifehacker.com/#!5157615/how-to-reinstall-a-working-hulu-in-boxee
Any opinions which of the media servers is the best for performance/cost?
Hulu plus is suppose to be coming to Boxee "in the near future" whatever that means, probably why regular Hulu got blocked.
