Dell has the D-Link Boxee Box Streaming Media Player for $200 - 10% off with coupon code VR9M094JL?RXBK [Exp 4/28] = $180 with free shipping. Runs Boxee software for streaming from MTV, Digg, TED Talks and Pandora. Also features full 1080p support, USB ports for external hard drive connectivity, 802.11n and a QWERTY remote.
It is expensive compared to the other products but it has added functionality. It passes DTS-HDMA. The WDTV Live Plus steps DTS-HDMA down to DTS. It identifies your media and puts descriptions and poster images on each file. This makes scrolling throug your media much nicer. It will also connect to web sites and allow you to watch stuff for free. No HD stuff, but it's passable. Take a look at some of the later articles written about the box. Boxee / DLink have made good advancements and I expect further features as the box lives on.
I have the Boxee Box, WDTV, WDTV Live Plus, and an Asus O!Play Air. This is the best out of all of them. WDTV Live Plus is a close second with the new firmware but it's not as easy to use as the Boxee.
I have boxee on my htpc, and it's nice enough software (I prefer xbmc), you'll easily spend more than 180 on hardware to build your own htpc, get this instead.
i find your lack of netflix support disturbing.
ok i was wrong:
