Ends 9/12. Newegg has the refurbished D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router for $30 with free shipping. Delivers up to 14x faster speeds and 6x farther range than 802.11g, with a 4-port 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch that connects Gigabit wired devices. 1 year extended warranty included with purchase.
Good value. I don't mind refurbished routers, most often the prior owner couldn't set it up or had a bad environment and thus didn't get the wifi performance they were hoping for.
Main issue to me is whether you want a custom firmware like DD-WRT on it which this doesn't support AFAIK, though owners report good performance and reasonable menus for the claimed capabilities.
It does have an issue, that some have experienced capacitor failure after a few months or longer. I've seen that happen on many different makes and models of router so I just expect it and accept that for long life I'm going to have to get out a soldering iron and put some high quality capacitors in it, or put it in a well ventilated area so there's less heat buildup.
There are a FEW equals.....but there is NO better Router made than the 655
#1 even when it's refurbished?

Personally I prefer DD-WRT and seldom do large file transfers over wifi so I prefer the $21 refurb'd Cisco Valet Plus (formerly $20).
