I had one of these and my only complaint is that the wireless range is pretty short.

My only complaint is the need for more mac address storage.

One of the best, if not the best router I have ever owned. And at a great price!

Actually, if you read professional forums it's the WORST router that that most people have owned. Heck, go to DLink's own forums and you'll find endless people who have sworn off DLink completely. This is the failure to the world of routers that American car manufactures have been to automobiles.

Backed by years of use, the 655's always been a standard to which most all other routers had to be compared to. It's had firmware issues, but those kinda things happen with all kinds of devices. Anyone with 1/2 a brain had no problems working out the minor bugs that arose. I'm still activly using mine at 2 seperate locations and see no reason why they'll be swapped out anytime soon. By any unit of measure....the 655 is one of the most popular routers ever sold . For $40 , itsa major deal. Grab one for total piece of mind if you're needing a premium router

I've been using this one for years but recently it stopped being able to save settings and you would have to enter all of configuration settings/mac addresses/etc manually. Other than that, I like how it allows for seamless workability with Skype and other voip devices. Might just pick up a backup one here since my current one is about ready to go.

I'm still using the original firmware (at the time I bought it) on mine (1.21?) after reading some of the horror stories about certain firmware updates. I'd like to know if I can finally update mine without worry. Anyone chime in on their firmware experience with latest updates?

I do like that it's a gigabit router, which works out well with my Netgear XAVB-101 Ethernet over Powerline adapters. I can agree that at least in my experience, wireless range isn't quite up to my old standby Zyxel X-550, but I'm not using it for wireless, save for my cellphone in the house.
