The price isn't bad. I might get it if I didn't mind bothering with a rebate. I hear you need to ditch the included software and use something like TVersity to get much out of it.

I ditched their software and tried twonky, then switched to TVersity for my 510.

I have the 520 and use uShare via my Thecus N5200BR 2TB NAS. Works flawlessly. Definitely upgrade the firmware, and you do need the MediaMall software to get the most out of the 'online content'. Two thumbs up with only minor issues I wish their product managers would address sooner rather than later.

PS - I've heard that the DSM520 is "based on old hardware" and that you should consider newer devices instead. I'm not sure how much or if that really matters at all. Also, I've read that DLink and Netflix have (or will?) enter into an agreement and that you'll be able to get Netflix On Demand (or whatever they're calling it) via the DSM-520 with a future firmware update... Now THAT will be cool!
