Does anyone know if this will output JPEG photos shot in 16:9 format at my HDTV's native 1080 resolution? I've seen some devices out there that claim "HD output", but people complain about their photos not filling the entire screen despite the photo being shot in 1920x1080, or higher 16:9 format.

      Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any ownership experience with this? Looking to buy a streaming device in near future. Any other recommendations? Thanks

I hear this isn't bad hardware but the software is lacking, so use something else like TVersity. I recently got a MediaGate MG-350HD which is a similar device that can also have it's own internal HD. The MediaGate is good for movies but not so much for photos. The photos look good on HD but the interface is limited and awkward at best.

No, the DSM-520 does not (yet) support HD photo output, which is pretty stupid really considering that it purports to be an HD media player.

I do know that there is some active work being done on future firmware upgrades though, but don't hold your breath on this being in the next release... and their firmware updates have been very few and far between.

You might want to check out Apple TV for what you're looking for.
