NewEgg.com has the D-Link Wireless N Router DIR-615 on sale for $40 + $0 shipping = $40 shipped. Scroll to Combo deals to get the D-Link DWA-642 RangeBooster N Notebook Adapter for free with purchase. It supports a draft 802.11n standard, which may become obsolete if it isn't compatible with the eventual approved standard. A flash upgrade might alleviate that problem.

I have this router in my home for well over 2 years. The latest firmware (2.25) introduced a QoS engine and made the router have to be rebooted less often.

Over the course of the last month; however, it has been a different story. I have a dry loop DSL line, and use the modem in bridged mode so that the router handles the PPPoE authentication. About every 5 to 7 minutes, the connection is dropped, requiring a reboot of the modem and router to reestablish the connection.

I've called my ISP who ran a line test. Great throughput, strong signal. Even had a tech come out at my insistance to check the hub and bring out a new modem. The problem persisted.

Contacting D-Link's tech suppport was a joke. It was less than a joke since they insisted their product was not the cause of the problem and that I had a defective modem.

To top it off, they haven't released a firmware update in a year, and it is not supported by Tomato or DD-WRT third party firmware.

I'm going Linksys/Cisco from here on out.
