anyone know if this is fast? Cant find any reviews online...
Reviews of the lower capacity zMates showed them to be very slow, and usually if any in a product line are faster among the family it is the lower capacity models.
In other words, expect slow but the price is pretty good. It's a bit bulbous though, why did they have to go out of their way to make it fatter than it needed to be, for geeks that need an extra bulge in their pants?
no reviews on amazon either

I have this drive -- I'd say it's mid-range on speed:
Seq read = 17.5 MB/s
Seq write = 8 MB/s
Random read = 17.5 MB/s
Random write = 2.2 MB/s (100 MB blocks)
Not bad at all!
wow someone signed up just to post the speeds.
Update: I received my drive and its very fast.
400MB of assorted mp3s (3-5mb) in 45 seconds. (8MB/s)
I'm happy
