#17, WHS allows mixing drives and expands the pool to whatever drives you put in. It does require that you use the console to "remove" the drive via software before unplugging it.

If that's a problem and you don't mind hooking your drive box up to a single PC via USB then go for the Drobo.

Everyone seems to think this thing is USB 2 only. It also has a Firewire 800 connector.
