You mean I can feed myself for a whole year for just 800 dollars? Wow I spend WAY more than that now, think of the extra cash I will have to pay those doctor bills when I am near death from starvation!

I wonder how long this lasts. Even dehydrated and freeze-dried stuff will go bad after a few years. $800 is a big bet to place on impending apocalypse.

#5 I think all the natural disasters so far pretty much answer that question.

What worse? Eating fruits and berries for a year or eating this freeze dried crap...

Only 3 cans of bacon? I need at least a can a day.

Once you open a gallon can of corn, then what, just keep eating until you finish it? To clinch the sale, there should be 3 cases of toilet paper as well...

Commercially dehydrated usually has a shelf life close to 8 years, freeze-dried around 25 years... both assuming the packaging seal isn't broken.

Freeze-dried corn. While shelf life is greatly decreased by opening the can exposing it to moisture in the air, it's not like it's going to spoil in only a few days or less, unless you add water.

Water is the key here, you're going to need a LOT of it to be able to eat all of this, while regular canned goods can be a source of *water* too (except for the high sodium and other additives often present) but the tradeoff is of course the higher weight (often volume too) and shorter shelf life.
