Great price for a glossy screen monitor. You can get 5% back at Shop Discover. I just ordered for $219 at Dell's Ebay store with 8% BCB. If you use Discover, this is a little better deal, particularly if none are on Ebay.

If you trust wikipedia, this is a 6-bit panel. Not shocking at this price, but folks should know to expect weak/pixelated color.

Folks should know good modern TN panels look great, only a little faded if set next to a non-TN panel or viewed at an angle. Funny thing is, many people actually set their monitors to excessive saturation and contrast compared to reality, and the same is true of most pictures on the internet, so it's seldom that you need the max contrast and saturation possible.

It's time to let the myth die that TN has less color saturation than needed, and only really crappy 6 bit panels show any pixelation (bad dithering) these days unless you press your nose against the screen when looking at the image and even then better monitors shift pixels to hide any such effect.

For example I'm not sure if this one is a Samsung panel like some other Dells but on those 6 bit TN panels you see no pixelation in color gradients at all.

Grrrr, just ordered the Hanns-G this morning from Newegg. So hard to find a a good/cheap 1920x1200 monitor now-a-days. At least this one is close.... Wonder if it would still game at 1920x1200.

This gets a great review by Cnet http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/dell-sp2309w/4505-3174_7-33456038.html I am not worried about the 6 bit point, but thanks for noting in case it is true. This monitor also has one of the best dot pitches I have seen.

I have two of these - we use them for photoshop work. I am very picky about flickering, pixelization, color, etc. I am pleased with this model in both the resolution and performance.

#5 - you think a webcam and USB hub cost $50?

Got one of these and love it. No Linux support for the internal microphone, but that's minor I think.

Bought one about 10 days ago. It made a buzzing noise when brightness was below 100% (seems like a common problem with this model). Dell sent a replacement two days later, newer revision without the problem. Outstanding service.
