i had the 2407. the power supply started buzzing, so dell did a warranty swap and sent me the 2408. HDMI, dual DVI, component... probably has more video inputs than your TV. once you calibrate this bad boy, it's well worth the money over those cheapie TNs.

I bought one of these at $395 last time they were down that low. It's pretty, but it's laggy and it doesn't look that much better than the TN it's sitting next to. Buy something faster and cheaper unless you really need the better color reproduction.

6 millisecond response time equals 166hz. your power source only oscillates at 60hz. anecdotally, i've never noticed any issues whatsoever with lag.

i guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but TN vs PVA is a night and day difference. i get distracted by the image difference even from eye to eye. it looks like there are weird shadows or some shading gradient over the image, constantly fluctuating with the slightest head movement.

some people are happy with TNs, because they do display an image. and some people are happy with daewoo cars, because they get you from here to there. not trying to start a flame war, but i'm one of the people that really notices a qualitative difference between the two technologies.

And I'm one of the people that can feel the 33ms of lag after each keystroke. I suppose the moral of the story is never buy a monitor that you haven't seen. To continue the car analogy, if a TN monitor is a daewoo, then this monitor is a yacht. Large, luxurious, and sluggish.

This goes to show you most people are color blind and don't edit media.

PVA panels have superior color reproduction, but if all you do is play games...then get the cheap crap.
