This was 390 a few weeks back according to bababooey forum. Sorry Dell, try again.
it's too expensive.
#2
Too expensive? This is actually a pretty good price for an S-PVA panel monitor. Yeah, it may or may not have been less expensive in the past if #1 is correct.
Stick with 24" TN panel monitors if you really think this is too expensive.
@ #3 yeah, i would buy it if it dips under 400 again
Does Dell have a 24" IPS monitor that's somewhat affordable?
Does ANYONE have a 24" IPS monitor that's somewhat affordable?
#1 is correct, $391 about a month ago. It is a pretty good monitor, to get to the next level, in terms of image quality, you need to pay significantly more.
$200 more for a couple of inches. Didn't we just see a 22 for 140?
#8, I would pay anything for an additional couple of inches. That would bring my total to 3 inches.

Dell does have a 22" e-ips for $200 or so. It's actually supposed to cost about as much as a TN to make...but I hear there are no immediate plans to come out with a bigger e-ips as they have too many/much invested in current TN panels (Kinda like drug companies will do anything in their power to PREVENT the cure for cancer and diseases as they make a killing off of drugs, literally)

The additional $200 is not just for an extra 2". S-PVA panels are simply more expensive to manufacture than TN panels. IPS panels generally cost even more to manufacture; the exception being the e-IPS panel.
I got a couple of 24" monitors from Dell for $200 each last week.
Too expensive for a computer monitor, where you dont' need wide viewing angle. If it were meant for TV viewing too with an integrated tuner that'd be another story.
It's not that S-PVA are more expensive to manufacture, it's that they artificially keep the price even higher than the difference in manufacturing cost.
seems overpriced! no deal for me
EPICALLY UNFUNNY.
