Tempting but.Way too much for a 24" monitor. There are a ton of monitors out there for a lot less.

I think this monitor dropped to around $350 last fall. Good reviews and has a great response time. It has a PVA panel which is great but you can get the P-IPS panel on the HP LP2475w monitor for $547.

I'm staring into this exact monitor right now. Totally worth the money, if you're not paying for it.

#6: except those 22" ones would have crappy TN panels rather than a superior PVA or baconPS

Would you rather have 1 Ferrari, or 2 piles of horse manure ?

They only way this monitor is going to significantly drop in price is if it goes to an TN panel. This Dell monitor has the S-PVA Panel. There are many different panel technologies used in the production of LCD monitors. They range from budget TN panels to expensive, professional quality IPS and S-PVA panels.

Yes, this is a better panel. It will not be as cheap as the TN panels. Ultrasharp models are nicer monitors overall. PVA panel, great OSD, lots of inputs.

Get a HP W2408H or a Soyo Pearl. Close enough color gamut to this one.

Krdrier is right. S-Pva panel will cost a lot more than a TN unless they are liquidating these you wont see them dirt cheap. IPS panels are the best you can buy right now and the HP ones is a better one than this DELL if you want a professional monitor. They both almost the same color gamut and viewing angles, but IPS panels are more responsive than PVA panels and I think they are more clear looking too.
