      I saw the 27" 2709 for ~$540 with the live.com 30% back on ebay...

Only thing is, these monitors still have issues and wasn't the 'wow' that the 2405wfp first gave.

#4: No, I never said it sucks, I'm just saying it's not perfect Very Happy

Here's the lowdown on the 2709:

      - Great Monitor Wink

      - Needs color calibration along with contrast + brightness

      - Color reproduction is very good and accurate (92% Gamut I believe)

      - However, numerous ppl have reported noticeable input lag when playing games...most ppl say it's a great 'artist' monitor but not for gaming

#9 calibration....for brightness, contrast and color ... that's what I meant ;O Everyone knows all Dell monitors are initially meant for ppl who like to look at the sun everyday

Everyone has complained for over a year and a half (no exaggeration) that this thing costs $500.
      "I'll wait till Christmas/black friday/etc until its $200"
and so forth. This monitor has been this price for nearly 2 years - and will likely stay there.

I own this LCD, and it's great. It's considerably better than the TF panel version as far as image quality (color is richer and more of the gamut is covered, sharpness is superb, etc). These are about the best LCD's for quality of image you can find.

If you want to pay $200 - go to costco and enjoy whatever; but quit complaining about this deal. You pay for quality and I believe this monitor IS worth every bacon double bacon burger of $500 for what you get.

This is not worth $500, no way. Maybe 18 months ago but pricing on everything else has dropped so...
