input lag is a deal killer on this one for me. too bad, too, because after reading the reviews of the prior version -- and seeing one in person -- i was ready to fork over my money to dell. oh well.
i just got a dell 23" (tn panel) last week for $189.
you can get a huge lcd tv for this price.
Is this a different kind of panel ? hence the bigger price tag.
I agree with most of the posters here concerning the pricing on this LCD. With LCD prices dropping like mad, Dell not doing too well in sales, and similar models with slightly less quality priced almost half this price, Dell should really drop the price on this monitor further.
There are some people with money willing to shell out some cash in this economy, but the situation will be worse. So many people are already losing their jobs, unemployment rate is highest in 30 years, and things are looking worse as time progresses.
Too pricey.
Wow! The quality/price war is getting pretty fierce around here. I'm a bit of a price guy myself. Of course if I were making money by producing things that needed to have correct colors I might well go for a 'better quality' LCD.
I'm still watching for some crazy site to go $210 for a 26" again... I could swear someone did that about four months ago (geeks? I don't remember).
Nice Monitor, I was about to drop $1000 for an NEC 24" .. Supreme high end, but half the price is looking pretty temping
its a good monitor, use it everyday. but 500+ is way too expansive for now. no point for that.
It's all about the deal and I don't see one here.
#18, obviously you live in your own little world b/c the economy is in very bad shape. Why don't you go to the unemployment agency and see how many people do not have jobs. Or better yet, go look at the lines at career fairs. This economy is hurting educated middle class the most. Be grateful you got it well in these trying times.
And judging by your "you-know-who-elected" comment, I'm guessing you're someone (I seriously doubt you're poor) who does not like to see our country have a black president. It's just a guess. For some people, ignorance is bliss.
#18, how many trailer homes are put up for sale anyways.?
we use some of these at work... could sure use one at home if it were a little cheaper..
Way too much for a monitor.
I hate people like #2, and you #2 you are an rodeo cowboy. however I have heard this monitor can have lag input issues.
Great monitor, gets kinda hot. I have the 22" Samsung 226bw (good gaming monitor) and this monitor. Big difference between the 2. Picture quality is amazing on this being a S-PVA panel compared to the 226bw's TN panel.
I'm a pretty avid pc gamer, but not a hardcore contest gamer. Didn't really feel much of a lag issue between the 2. Ghosting is not horrible on the 2408. 1920x1200 resolution is REALLY nice.
If these finally drop under $500, that might be my breaking point.
Too expensive. Waiting for it to drop.
i wonder when this monitor will hit the $400 price mark
Lag input has been resolved. Don't worry about it. To be safe, just call Dell and tell them to verify that they're sending you the updated version. In my experience they have very good customer service.
