Dell Home has the new Dell E228WFP 22" Widescreen Flat Panel LCD Monitor for $296 with free shipping. It offers Analog (VGA) and DVI (Digital Video Interface) connector interface, but not the multitude of other inputs that its predecessors had (it is a budget minded monitor).

1680x1050 Pixels Resolution, 300 cd/m2 Brightness, 800:1 contrast ratio

Viewing angle of 160Â° â€” both horizontal and vertical, 5ms response time

About a month ago, my rep offered it for $280 with ship. At that time it was listed at $325. So I assume the negotiated price has dropped further (g <$280), but I haven't checked lately.

Ben's posted prices on this equipment over the last year or so have consistently been too high (g NOT that great).

i believe the samsung has a higher contrast ratio and a faster response time.
