This thing is garbage. I bought one for testing, paid $1200 earlier this year. Windows 7 is basically unusable on this device. I was able to get windows 8 installed, but it is so slow, it is again unusable. Don't waste your money.
unbelievable, was $199 a week or two ago for this configuration. not sure how the increase is justified for the machine that it is. With the economy the way it is the device should be cheaper rather than more expensive. somebody is banking on santa gobbling these up to distribute to all the girls and boys who otherwise wanted an android or ios tablet. it is certainly interesting, slow or not, that this is a full functioning "PC" so to speak, but given it is so slow i'm not sure that "full functioning" is a correct description. either way, the price has been moving about like a snapping rubber band.
Haha can you imagine a teen opening this up on xmas and thinking Ipad or maybe an android tablet and then finding out its from Microsoft. Not that im implying that its bad just teens are into status symbols and such. Also reviews on amazon confirm this thing isnt that great.
atom processor was so slow it literally handed the netbook market to the ipad. The pc industry wandered in the wilderness for 2 years, destroying the opportunity to have a decent-powered, reasonable-cost alternative to ipad. No touchscreen notebook of any sort, they just sat there to be slaughtered by Apple. The culprit is atom for the hardware, and Vista for the OS. People responsible for these mis-steps should be fired and banned from the pc industry forever. While win-7 is a half-decent OS and Vista is long gone, this stupid atom is coming back to haunt us!
Their overpriced Surface is stumbling out of the blocks...
