    Want to project some movies in my room, this should be good enough right? Pretty shitty specs though. For this price range I'm guessing its good.

    720p = 720 lines, this only has 600

    Also, 720p implies 16x9 format, this is 4x3

    Also, 720p implies 1280x720 resolution (0.92 MPixel), this projector is 858x600 (0.51 MPixel)

    720p its not but maybe if you want to watch old VHS tapes it would be OK.

    Eh. Its a microprojector. LED based.
    If you're looking for bright and high res. Then look elsewhere. Its meant for pure portablility when you need something larger than your laptop screen to share with others.

    Don't look here for a movie projector for your room. This is meant specifically for traveling presentations-small and good for powerpoint, etc.

    #11, you are the moron. This PJ will accept a 720p signal but with only 600 vertical lines it doesn't have adequate resolution to project a 720p image. Therefore it's NOT a 720p projector. It's SVGA.

    600 < 720 -- do you get it now, MORON?

    #13 is right!
    to project full hdtv, a projector has to have at least native WXGA(1240 X 764) resolution.
    even my oldie canon lv-7105 cannot project full hdtv cause its only XGA, although its resolution is still better compared to this projector.

    OK, either way buy this for cost and not quality. If you want a really nice projector expect to spend at least 800.

    This PJ is perfectly fine for business presentations, which is what it's designed for and where its tiny size is a big advantage. It's NOT intended for home theatre -- besides the low resolution, the contrast isn't good enough for convincing blacks. Actually the low contrast is more of a problem for HT than the resolution; there are some excellent HT Projectors out there that are "only" SVGA resolution and throw a great picture. SVGA has plenty of resolution for standard DVD's although its a bit lacking for HD. (But you'd be surprised how good HD looks on a theatre-quality SVGA projector)
