512Mb of memory? 640Kb ought to be enough for anybody.

Yes, people throw them out when some part fails, then I pick them up and make systems very cheaply. It's easy to spend $60 on a case w/PSU BUT this one is a bit too old to have any other reasonably usable parts besides the CD drive for long enough to get another OS on it.

If only it were a little newer, had SATA or more slots so you could throw a couple raid cards and GbE card in, it'd make a reasonable home fileserver. Pity they don't show interior pics though, with small form factor cases like these some of them are more difficult to cram extra hard drives into, but at least you can probably get 3 into it by reusing the floppy and CD bays, possibly requiring drilling a couple new screw holes in the floppy bay.

Then again, that's if you pick it up free, hard to justify the shipping -> total cost on this one.

Yeah, #7. Windows 2000 probably runs fine on this box.

So, once you get this, all you need is a keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, Ethernet connection and some cables and you could have a great machine...back when Enron stock looked like a good deal and I could carry such weapons as a bottle of water or a can of shaving cream onto an airplane...

Ubuntu runs fine on them. Wouldn't pay $100 bucks apiece for one though...

Yep, I've purchased stuff from them in the past and one order had a problem - ordered two mice and only got one - no one ever answered a call or email to correct it. So my assumption is that if they screw up on their end you are SOL.

      BBB: Company Rating F
Our opinion of what this rating means:
We strongly question the company's reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law's licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company's industry is known for its fraudulent business practices

I should have known so many negatives about this company. I received the unit DOA! Ended up to pay for re-stock & shipping back fees. OUTCH!
