This is a typical "on sale" price for this monitor. Love the stand and the dead-pixel policy. Getting used to a TN panel was a bit of a bummer.

Now that Dell is using TN panels in UltraSharps, they are a LOT less compelling. Lots of complaints (even in the reviews on the Dell site) about poor color accuracy, and very poor viewing angles. Considering the dead pixel policy and 3 year warranty, it's probably worth it for $200 if the shortcomings don't bother you.
Dell has REALLY lowered the bar on the UltraSharp branding as a trade off for profits.

I was amazed to see an Ultrasharp @ this price. I paid twice this much for a 20" US years ago, but since they've switched to TN panels I'm glad I got mine before
This deal represents a $19 price drop. This display has been selling for $219 off and on since November-ish.
#13, drtoddsucks' id was coined after he visited his doctor in May '08. Show some mercy ..
There was a time when UltraSharps were either TN or PVA. Think 15" and 17" as the high end like the 1703FP. Dell will have a 22" with H-IPS (Dell 2209WA), but maybe not at this low of a price.
#19, the 2209WA is already available, but it's $300. In fairness though, that's incredibly dirt cheap for a true 8-bit IPS panel. It also has true 178 degree viewing angles. The only downside (if it's important to you) is that it is not HDMI capable.
UPDATE: I just called Dell to see if they would apply the coupon code to the new 2209WA. He tried it, and of course it failed. I asked him to check with a sales supervisor, and his manager approved it. Total, including tax and the $16 Calif environmental fee came to $273.74. At that price it's a steal. I just ordered one for my business office. If you call Dell, make sure it's Dell Home, not Dell Business.
