Ok, I'm deeply considering getting this. I originally bought a 2408wfp, which had awful input lag and had to return it. This leads me to 3 questions:
1. What is the input lag on this monitor?
2. Anyone know dells policy on refurbished monitors? Am I going to get one with dead pixels?
3. There are tons of the monitors available with different service tags. How do I know which one to get! Any way of knowing what revision you'd get?
Thanks in advance... it's a long one.
Same Panel type. The 2408 has better color gamut, But I hear a lot of reviews about the 2707 looks better than the 2407. I would go with the 2707 if you sit pretty far from your screen other then that you wouldn't need anything bigger than a 24 since the 27 and the 24 have the same res. You're always going to get lag with S-PVA they're not really meant to game on, that's why they are price higher. They are suppose to be good for graphical applications. Spend your money on a cheaper nice TN panel if you need quicker LCD.
Can anyone get the code to work? It's not working for me.

ANSWERS...
1. Three.
2. Yes. Probably.
3. I would look at the label.
#1, I would not "upgrade" from 24" to 27" when the resolution stays the same! The size difference is not much to justify a significant price increase (not sure what this is) and 24" is already big enough (it's not like a 13" vs a 17" where yes the difference is big).
Most importantly, I understand that Dell corrected the input lag on the 2408. It was an error and they either updated drivers or did something to fix it. As for dead pixels - go to the Dell site. I *think* they did mention that the 3 warranty covers you from any dead pixels. Check me on it at the Dell site. The only downside of this is that you had to go through warranty, they'd probably replace yours with a recertified one (although I'm not sure here). In any case, I know that Dell Ultrasharps have a stellar reputation for their quality and reliability and this is a big deal when you consider how many of them Dell sells (to increase the probability of bad cases that you do hear of).
Best thing for you to do is take a few minutes and call Dell. From my experience, they've had excellent customer service for people who own Dell products but awful sales people for people who are just about to buy. Yes, it sucks you'll be getting info from the awful sales people but do it any way. Ask them about the input lag - hasn't it been resolved recently? Ask them to make a note on your account of the assurance given to you. Google it to see other people also mentioning how it's been resolved. Then look at the prices and consider again the 2408.
Good luck.
My 2408WFP A01 has no input lag problem. This is a good deal but 2408 is superior.
I think you have to have at least 7 dead pixels or three in the same area.
Yes. Before they woould only cover if you had like more than 3 dead pixels. But now they cover your monitor even if it has ONE dead pixel.
I just got the 2709 came out to $650 with Tax. Just got it yesterday. Can't wait to play BF2 on it.
=)
How did you get the 2709 for $650 (incl tax)?
zero bright pixel guarantee for immediate exchange.

I'll buy the 2709 for $650. Please explain how you pulled that off.
this one is nicer than the 2709 the stand is nicer.
HERES THE SECRET!!
I've told BEN to post this.
But I have a Biz account with DELL>
They have a special deal if you buy 2 monitors at regular price you get a third one free.
Hence the price.
Don't believe me....try it out!!
I still have one for sale if anyone wants it.
