Go for it #1, just think it's Xms gift for yourself. I have the 24" already, otherwise, I'll go for it

why buy this when you can buy a 42" 1080 1920x1200 lcd for just a little more

I used my 42" vizio for a monitor for a short period and it was amazing.. WoW never looked so great Smile

#4 is right, I got the LG 42" 1080p for 999, more inputs and has sound plus tuners. I would buy this monitor for 400 that is about it. Plus, it needs an HDMI plug in it.

Dumb product. Pay a little more and get a 30" monitor so you can get a resolution improvement over 1920x1200, or spend half to get the same number of pixels with a 24". The 27" is too small to use as a TV, anyway. If you want this resolution in a large screen, follow #4/#7's advice.

Aren't the specs on LCD PC monitors usually better than 1080P LCD HDTV's?

I'd have to agree with #7. Any new purchase of a larger format Monitor or TV without HDMI inputs is very unwise.
