Stun me with an 11ms response time!?!?? hardly.
11ms probably on the lowest resolution. LOL.
Can anybody talk about their experience with Dells refurbs?
never tried a refurb... the new ones are just awesome
Hey guys,
I think this is a good deal. Considering that it gives you much needed real estate if you are into graphics and/or making movies and editing your own home made movies. However, you need to stay a long distance from it. Other wise you will go blind. The thing is so huge that it will take you entire desk. If you are into stocks, options, futures and forex market, this will most likely replace all those who are using multiple monitors to track their charts and graphs and their financial platform on which they trade on.
But the most important thing is that you need to have the right video card for you to be able to connect it to your computer. You need a video card that is equipped with DVI-D dual-link graphic card. If you are not familiar what I am talking about take a look at the following link, and familiarize yourself with the DVI-D Dual-link connector head.

have people reported that refurbs tend to have more dead pixel screens? Id imagine that most monitors are returned because of this single reason.
refurb? Just plain not interested. Ever. For anything.
what about a Jessica Simpson refurb?
I've got to tell you about my bad experience with a Dell refurbished monitor. About two weeks ago I ordered a 2007WFP 20" refurb monitor, thinking I could trust Dell's reputation for quality. The monitor looked fine when it arrived, although the dust and smudges on the screen showed it had obviously been used before. I hooked it up to my computer and used it without problems for about two hours.
Then the next morning I go to turn it on and nothing happens. Pushing the on/off button has absolutely no effect. I check and recheck all my connections and still nothing. So I pull out all the cords, reconnect them and still nothing. After about 15 minutes, I finally manage to turn the monitor on, but then it starts cycling through all the video modes like I've been pushing the menu buttons, which I haven't.
Throughout that day, the monitor alternates between working fine and popping up menu options, even though I haven't touched the controls. At the end of the day I go to turn the monitor off and again, pushing the on/off button has no effect. I finally pull the plug in disgust.
All this leads me to think that the button control panel is bad. But I'm amazed that Dell would let this monitor through their quality control system, especially when it had obviously failed at some point to have been flagged as refurbished. All I can imagine is that someone then tested it out for a few minutes, thought it was fine and resold it to me. To Dell's credit, they did pay for the return shipping, although even that process has been filled with snags.
So...I'm sure there are many people who have had good experiences with Dell's refurbished monitors. But I know I won't be buying another one. Buyer beware.
tu madre
The sucky thing about having 1 large monitor, rather than 2 smaller ones, is you're always resizing windows, and moving them around. With 2 monitors, you can click "maximize" and it'll be as big as it can be on one monitor...I know, I know...lame problem...but it's something I noticed a couple after a couple hours of use with each format...I'd rather have two 20" square monitors than 1 30" widescreen.
I waited a while to get the 3007 WFP-HC's for 1200$ each new about a month ago. I've had no problems with my power buttons nor have the three people around here who have the WFP-2 of them bought refurbs and they've had no problems w/ buttons/pixels. If they had been 999 a month ago I might have bought these instead.
