In December of 2011 I bought my wife a Dell with the same CPU, 8 gig of RAM and a 1 TB HD for $399. How is this even remotely a deal 13 months later with these specs?
I'm guessing you bought an Inspiron. Vostros are built better and supported by Dell's business side, which is leaps and bounds better than their consumer side. Still, this isn't a very good deal.
I never had any issues with the consumer side, even on a refurb. Pop the cover of a Inspiron & a Vostro & the build quality is the same. Now on a Optiplex the quality is better.
