Ends 1/5/2012 at 7AM PST. Dell Business has the Dell Vostro 260 Mini Tower 2nd Generation Core i5 Quad-Core Desktop for $449 + $0 shipping = $449 shipped.
I'm not really a computer genius, but my mom needs just a basic computer that runs her basic stuff at a decent speed. can anyone tell me any problems that they see with this desktop. i see that it's a mini tower so adding/removing hardware could be a pain.
This is a decent system. I have the 460, which is a similar setup and popped in a new power supply and video card to make it a gaming system. If anything, it's too much power for basic computing and you should look for a cheaper i3 or AMD system.
I've been selling this configuration to all of my small business clients. This is the best price it's been so far and it's a very nice computer. It's really overkill for "basic stuff" like web browsing and email but often times these promotional deals are less expensive than the lower end units when you configure them with the same memory, HD space and DVD drive (watch out because Dell often uses DVD-ROM drives in the lower end systems and they want $35 to upgrade to a burner).
As for the mini tower configuration, there's PLENTY of room inside so don't worry about that.
