Extended through today. Dell has the Dell XPS 8500 3rd Generation Core i7 Desktop (Black Chassis) for $850 - $170 off with coupon code 47J4JKX29VX021 [Exp 11/26] = $680 with free shipping.
3rd Gen Intel Core i7-3770 3.40GHz, 8GB RAM, 2TB HDD
AMD Radeon HD 7570 1GB, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0+LE
DVD+/-RW, WAVE MAXXAudio 4 7.1Ch audio, Windows 8 x64
Is this a good deal? It would be strictly for Real Flight G6.5 on a BenQ 1080p projector.
Pretty decent deal. I paid more than this for an 8500 with a core i5.
Statik, I would recommend upgrading the video card. I'm planning on getting this for my nephews and upgrade the video card for gaming.
What card you gonna upgrade it to? And how can you get notifications to these threads?
Edit: you're right, I just checked the benchmarks for that card and its slower than my current 4 yr old card.
If you go to your "My Account" dropdown, you can set a deal alert for the keyword "Video Cards". You'll get regular notifications for deals that match your keyword sent to the email you used to register. Any time there is a good video card posted that matches your criteria, you'll be notified.
They've been a little buggy lately, but you should start seeing notifications pop up within a day or two. If you don't, submit a report to the forums and it'll be fixed.
I have the 8300 and it's a nice box. No issues. The caveat I see on this is that Win8 garbage.
Statik,
I'm looking for a good deal on video card that's $200 or less with PassMark score over 3,100. I'm eyeing the HD 7850 or 7870, GTX 560 or 560 ti and anything else that's on par with those.
Statik,
Check out this one. It's the GTX 562 Ti on TigerDirect for $139.99 after rebate. Free shipping and tax free.
