I just bought one of these from Amazon. It works alright, but don't expect it to heat up a large room. Also, a couple of times when running it on high it has tripped the breaker at my house. Make sure the first time you use it, you do it either outside or in the garage. You'll need to run it for 45 min to an hour to burn off the smell that it gives out. Overall, a 7 out of 10.

#1 well what breaker did it trip? Was it rated for more then the current this draws? The breaker is usually rated at what the wiring on that circuit can handle, so sounds like you might consider not using it until you get have some electrical work done so you can draw that kind of current through your wiring/outlets.

It tripped a 15 amp breaker.

Own it, love it. It is completely silent, and boosts the temperature in my main living area (where my thermostat is) at the cost of the empty rooms in the house.

There might be something else on that circuit. 15 amps at 120 volts is 1800 watts. This draws 1500. BTW, virtually all heaters are equally efficient. 1500 watts gives 5120 btu. Your choice of method. I prefer radiant, which heats objects/people in its focus more than air. Quiet, too.
