I have this pointer also, and I can't really recommend it. I got it for my cat, and the visible beam is a plus, but I'm assuming it overheats as it will stop working after a few minutes and you have to give it a moment before it will work again. That was a long run-on series of run on sentences. If you can get the same for less on ebay, so that. It's not worth $20. Though I don't see why it would be too bright to use as a teaching aid. Most of the time it's a struggle for me to keep up with profs' tiny red ones.

#4 cat's presentations in the litter box stink less than the presentation you made last week.

I have this one, and don't have issues with it not working.

Incidentally, animal behaviour people don't recommend using laser pointers to exercise your cat. Makes them more aggressive because they can never 'catch' it, so there's no sense of accomplishment.

I am not kidding on this - Be careful #4 if your cat moves, at all (e excercising), your commting patent infringement: See google patents and type in No.: 5443036. Absurd? Yes! But real too. I dont know how the patent got through!!

Nice. There's an instructional video on youtube and other places demonstrating how to transform this into a heat firing device. Maybe someone here give it a go?

Perhaps this explains why they're called "animals." And perhaps because they have intelligence and personality, they make great companions. And because they're great companions, not to mention living beings, decent people treat them well.
