By "Dual Tuner" they mean 1 Analog tuner, and 1 HD tuner. Don't expect to watch 1 HD program and record another HD Program, and the same goes for analog.

Get a real card... The Avermedia Duet White Box (OEM) tuner works flawlessly on Win7 and can record 2 HD channels simultaneously in the highly-efficient h.264 (AVCHD .MTS) format. This means very efficient use of storage space. Picture quality is excellent, regardless of Window size.

Uses Windows Media Center software that is built into Win7.

#2, the HD 600 cards don't work with Windows 7 and ATI will not release Win7 driver for them because ATI said the chipset used on these cards was not compatible with Windows 7. I have 2 of these 650 cards. They worked very good with Windows 7 Media Center. The remote that comes with the card is not great so I used the Hauppauge MCE remote instead.

ATI support said that these won't work with XP and service pack 3. I had problems with two 650's on two different computers with the newest drivers and finally just resorted back to the original drivers on the disk and the patch.

Don't expect to watch any HD channels if you have Comcast. Same deal with #3's card. ClearQAM may be a thing of the past.

#7, just install that driver for the HD 600 to see if I or you were wrong. Thanks for trying.

That driver is for the 750 Pro series.

I will, except I'll install the one for the 600 ATI series for windows 7 32/64 bit....

I guess I'll withhold judgment until I test it when I get my hardware in the mail. Who knows, reviews I've read and ATI's website may be wrong...

    600/650 will supposedly be supported for Win7 (2010 Q1):
    http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU39_ATITVWonderDrivers.aspx

According to that page, 550 is/was incompatible...

For the 550, I'm guessing that the driver support is "we don't feel like supporting it for Win7"... since my Theatre 550 is working on Win7 (64-bit) Media Center with 'default' drivers...

lazy... I still might bite on the 650 though... under $40 is pretty attractive for a dual-tuner card...

I also remember reading some workaround where you could trick the 750 Win7 driver to work since the older cards fit to the unified driver architecture. That might work for the next month (hopefully) until the Win7 drivers arrive.
