I like Dish, but since (Dec. 1st) they no longer offer Locals(PBS/ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox) I had to go back to cable for the time being. If you are lucky, you live in a zip code that they can work with. If not, you have to use a secondary service called american dish or something like that. I live exactly between two metro areas serviced, but my zip code makes me ineligible for either. Direct TV is the same. Both say Congress is to blame. Ohh well, I am saving $48 a month with cable, and I have more channels now.

yeah honestly i think Dish sucks. paying for local channels and when there was strong wind or heavy rain it always went out. i switched back to cable a long time ago. i would suggest everyone else do the same.

except some of us are stuck with really bad cable - fuzzy channels and frequent disruptions. Even tho I rewired my entire house, the signal still sucks. They said I can connect 5 tvs at a time and I can, but I won't be able to watch any of them. comcastic my a$$.

Cable blows. Rates go up every 6 months. I'm paying almost $100/month for HD/digital, HBO, and Showtime. No DVR. No internet. Comcast is a rapist.
This looks like a GREAT deal to me. I'll look into it. Only thing holding me back is FIOS will be in my 'hood in February...should I wait for it? Or lock in for 10 months... Hmmmm...

Dish for some folks is a MUCH better deal than cable. I get 120 channels, DVR service, equipment warranty and my locals for $52/mo. I get my HD channels OTA for free and my 942 DVR records them. I could kill my Dish locals (which are SD only) but the OTA stuff isn't entirely reliable and since the 942 allows me to record 3 separate channels at the same time I put them to good use.

Just received a price change notice from Comcast for AZ and these increases are way too much. We are now thinking to change back to Dish and this deal looks to be the best we have found so far.

Yeah I am much more satisfied with dish than comcast. I got my hd, and picture sucked via comcrap. Always got huge pixelation with them. Had them out like 5 times for tv and internet problem, then they said it was my internal cable that was causing the problems, and need to re-wire the whole house with rj6. Plus they are expensive, was like ~$60 for digital and no prem.

Went to dish and love them. Had directTV before and they sucked. Dish has more sats. Have hardly had any picture issues, and have been using with the existing rj59. Screw locals, never anything good going on over here anyways. Got HD, 2 room pvr, and a 4th reg receiver and cost me nothing. I pay around $90 for all that including starz.

Only thing I miss about comcast, is their internet was faster than dsl, and the on-demand was pretty kick a$$.

I'll stick with my Black & White TV that is using the antenna on my roof.

No remote control thats what the kids are for.

I save $123.00 by not having Dish or Direct TV or cable. Plus with no VCR or DVD player the kids aint spending my money down at the local video store.( Gives me a few more bucks for the ladies at the Strip Club, gotta keep them ladies in new thongs)

I do not spend any money on AAA batteries cause the kids are the remote, let em eat the free lunch at school.

What you all talking about this high deef, Grandma is so deef and high on Jack that we always can count on her for a good show.

Best of all I tell the kids that the reason the picture is all snowey is cause the signal comes from the North Pole.

Sorry, kids Santa will not be comming this year cause of the bad weather.

Yea they know old Rudolph got run over by my pick up last month comming home from the strip club kinda put his shinny nose out.

    Hey Happy Holidays

I have been a dish customer for 2 years and love the service. I can watch tv in 2 rooms without paying the extra $5 for the receiver. Customer service is great. When I moved appartments thay moved the dish for free. They have the cheapest packages.

I like DirectTV actually. I think they offer more service for the money. Dish has issues with refunds.

You may get the same deal plus a free portable dvd player through some dealer, such as sundish.com.

I prefer Dish but every time it starts to get windy, Dish went out. I've cable now and as much as I hate the prices, it's more reliable out here in the mountains.

I had dish for 1.5 year and can say it does vary on area your in. My Signal was very good, rare that it went out. Don't ever sign any contracts with them for 1 or 2 years, its for suckers!. I left because they did not offer my locals in HD and wanted to charge me $400 for HD/DVR receiver that my local cable company charges me $8 a month for. I am very happy with TWC and my bills only $50 a month in my one year promo
