I signed up for Dish last year. Took the day out of work to wait for them to come install my dish. The window of time passed, I called them and they insisted they were still coming. I asked if they were still coming even thought it was dark and someone would have to climb onto my roof and mount the dish in the dark and they still said yes. They never came. Never apologized. I figured if that was how they treated new customers they must treat the old ones really poorly. I'm not alone: http://www.dishsucks.com/

Dish network used to be reputable. I was a customer for 10 years and always paid on time. When my old dish finally stopped seeing
the satellite(s) and I counldnt repoint it this time myself, I cancelled the service. They called me around 6 months later and offered me an unbeatable deal: $31 per month, no contract, price guaranteed for a year. 2 dual tuner HD boxes and one of them is a DVR. all regular premium channels free for 6 months and $5 per month if I put the service on hold. well it turns out to be $66 per month, $22 to be on hold, and free premium channels for 3 months. Thankfully I am not on contract! The installation was sucky too and used old cables with weak
signal. I wonder if they will think it is worth it when I return 2 boxes that they cannot send to customers because they are used. If I ever resubscribe they will have to put all the terms in writing first. too bad, they WERE good.

#2, I had a similar thing happen with me only I don't go around crapping on Dish with the same message everytime a deal gets posted. Get over it already. Nobody cares.

Instead of coming on to forums with my problems, I called Dish directly and dealt with them. They gave me 2 months free service for my troubles and after that I didn't mind so much. Maybe if you just stopped bitching on forums where nobody can do anything about it and actually went to someone who could help you, you'd actually get somewhere.

In a nutshell, burp off and die. Thanks.

Never had a problem with'em so far. 3 years and going.
I always had them install on the weekends when someone in the family was around.
When I moved I made sure they did a damn good job on my second house with their cable installation. It totally depends on the person installing and his/her skills but make sure if it is your home they make it look pretty and hidden.
Normally the installers are random burp heads. I hate contracted installers. You'll get contracted installers for comcast, directtv, and disknetwork.. Most I have in encountered are burp heads.

Without going into details of personal plight, Customer Service and Service (opinion) is better from DirecTV than Dish. Dish has seemed to have a lot of deals lately; probably to stop the loss of customers that DirecTV has gained.

I suspect #2 works for the cable industry. He talks about service. The service from Comcast is FAR worse than anyone I have had to deal with in any company.

Virtually everyone I know that has cable, hates the service. Virtually everyone I know that has a dish loves it. That's all that needs to be said there.

Dish just released an interesting new package if you've got HDTV and are only really interested in watching HDTV. For $30/month ($35 if you want your local channels too), you get every HD channel they offer (about 40 of them) and none of the bundled SD crap that you'll never watch anyway. I just upgraded last week and also got the vip-722 DVR. Been very happy with it thus far, and it's definitely the cheapest way out there to get HD content right now.

I love comcast. They have great service and great looking servers. When ever my internet dies or my tv signal cuts out they are right there to fix the problem. Why one time I called, the service guy came to my house with a box of dozen doughnuts and mocha lattey. He fixed the problems in only a few minutes. I didn't have to worry about a thing. In fact, he helped me finish painting my dining room after. What service!!! Do dish providers have service like that. I think not!!!! Forget dish!

Also, they have a promo going right now that will give you Skinemax for $0.01/month for a year or two if you sign up for paperless statements and autopay. Just call and ask and they'll hook you up.

My dish contract runs out in less than 30 days - I won't be staying with them. And that's all I have to say about that...

The guy that installed my Dish Network brought along his girlfriend and let me bang her while he worked. Not sloppy seconds either!

#17, that reminds me of the time I installed a dish over at this 60 year old guy's house and made him burp me in the ass in front of his kids.
