CBS is not a standard channel available through Dish...which i am PISSED about because all of UCLA bball games are covered by CBS...which means that I have missed almost all the NCAA games!!!!
You have to subscribe to networks. It's about $5 per month. I receive all Wash DC networks (about an hour away) and in HD.
If it's broadcast over the air many of their boxes accept an antenna input and you can map it in. I have a HDDVR that I do this with. I think Dish is the least evil of the content providers. They all have their horror stories.
