Even the non-HD channels look a lot better, at least on my set. Much less pixelation and crawling edges over HDMI than over S-Video. Also the new DVR is a lot snappier to work with.
I've had Dish for about 20 months now and been extremely happy with it. I have the HDDVR 722, works flawlessly. I had TWC Scientific Atlanta HDDVR before this and had gone through 3 of them within one year. My Satellite rarely goes out, has to be a really nasty storm to go out. I recommend Dish Network plus its cheaper than cable
Happy with my service. I have the 722 as well; great setup.
Definitely cheaper than cable. The same/similar cable package is about twice as much.
I've got Dish as well and am very happy with it. I used to have Mediacom cable and compared to it, picture quality is MUCH better and the service costs about half as much. I used to be a fan of cable but now I realize that it's just junk.
Dish has the best hardware, pricing as good or better than most. Signal rarely goes out, a seasonal thing. With a DVR you can usually record it at another time if it gets hosed by signal loss. Have been with them for 5 years and other than wishing it were cheaper have no reason to consider switching. I have used DirectTV and cable at friends and think Dish is superior. They will be releasing a new top end HDDVR soon. Waiting to renew my contract till then. Dish offers some cool hardware like Slingbox and and Pocket Dish that the others don't. Just wish the network connection would let me share tuners and DVR's between boxes. With many HDTV's having a network connection it would be nice if the boxes acted more like servers so I could run more TV's off fewer boxes.
Yes, it is a good prices
Just a little caution. I think DISH is good but be very aware of the Terms and Conditions before you sign on the dotted line. This sounds like a great price for 12 months but the agreement is usually for 18 or 24 months. So you're paying whatever the price will go to after the introductory price .. and usually more for the extra equipment and local channels after the introduction .. and they won't guarantee what that price will be so you won't know what you'll eventually be paying (already asked) until 13 months from signup. Also, this is a DISH reseller not DISH itself. FYI: Their Terms and Conditions page is "Page Not Found" at the moment. Be cautious.
I love Dish Network. No problems at all. I have the dual room DVR and I don't know how I lived without it all these years.
in my area i feel like i am stuck with cable. Could I get an all 3 package like cable offers..phone/tv/inet..seems like I can't. They don't offer fios in my area..and need to go with at&t if i go phone and inet...that's not for me. Any suggestions?
Confirmed what I thought to be true. It's a 2 year service commitment for a 12 month promo. So the first 12 months is $25 but what does it cost after that .. anyone's guess. How can they ask you to commit to months 13-24 when they won't? Heck .. I'm good with 24 months at $30 as long as I know it will be $30 fixed for the full 24 months that they've asked me to commit to their service.
