Anyone know how long a domain's "REDEMPTION PERIOD IS"? I've seen conflicting ranges around the net, and I'm waiting for a domain to drop that's been sitting in that state for awhile now.
If you're waiting for a domain name to drop and you really want it. Get a "backorder" service, while its no guarantee. There are too many companies out there that just scour the expiration information to try to screw people over if they forgot to pay. I've had really dumb domain names die over time and they were instantly snatched by squatters.
Agreed! The backorder service at GoDaddy works quite well...managed to get 1 of my domain names back after the squatter that grabbed it from me (my fault) let it go after a year and 1 that I wanted that was getting ready to go available.
Plus...if the domain name that you backorder gets renewed by the owner you can transfer the backorder to another name you want.
