how does this comapre to TJ Swann?
Does it come in a box? Plus, doesn't this go against the demographic of BB's visitors?
...and by "exclusive" he means anyone who goes to the site and searches for "Las Vals" or "Domaine Ligneres".
From the site:
It shows plenty on the variety's dark, brooding character, with flavors of chocolate, plum, and cola rounded out by a dash of tree bark… a creamy, lush mouthfeel, making the wine approachable in its youth.
Nice deal for a nice grap...unfortunately, I have no idea about this producer and I doubt it's all that great for a 2002 Bordeaux.
Minimum you should pay is about $30+ per bottle for good wine. You can't get a good bottle of wine for $7.82/bottle. FACT!
m0f0 this is a $30/bottle wine, just at a really great price!
No, it says it's usually $24 a bottle. $24 is less than $30 the last time I looked. That means this wine must be baconnaise. FACT!
Hmm nice try m0f0 but, I think $24 + shipping equals to more then $30 a bottle
What the f*ck, Ben?!? I placed the order and entered the code but they're still charging me $17 for shipping. ARgh!!!
Mine worked just fine
Try again, clear your cache and reload.
Called their 1800-WINE-190 number and they edited the order for me. Free shipping. Thanks, Ben!
They have 2 locations in NJ (hence the sales tax in NJ).
#8, shipping shouldn't be included in one's reckoning for the price point that makes a good wine, otherwise I would have said $30+ plus shipping. The plain fact of the matter is that this wine simply cannot be any good. FACT!
However, since you're splitting hairs, please see this part of Ben's post.
Get free shipping on 6+ bottles using coupon code FREESHIP4BEN.
You may now apologize.
I also agree with #5 - the cheap, sub $20 wines are so mass produced and contaminated with artificial sulfites (all wines have sulfites, but to a much lesser extent) and other artificial preservatives, that any health-benefit that you might think you're getting from having a glass of wine with dinner or in the evening is offset by the garbage you're putting inside your body.
Having said that, I did order 6 bottles of this wine and will probably end up making future orders with these guys, if they stop giving me trouble with the whole free shipping ordeal.
If I like it, then great! If not, it's always a bring-alonbaconift when going over other people's home
S I did place the order for 6 bottles
lol m0f0
#13, this wine might be OK for cooking wine, or serving to any plebian guests you may be unfortunate enough to entertain at your estate.
I'll be selling them for $20 if anyone is interested. I got 2 dozens (4 cases), that's why it's sold out.
#16 you are a true douche bag, but I respect the fact that you don't hide it.
#13, time to stop pretending you know something about wine. First, #5 said $30, not $20. Secondly, there are many excellent wines that are under the $30 price point (and even the $20 mark) that aren't mass-produced or full of preservatives. For example:
http://www.bevmo.com/productlist.asp?N=4294938181
A list of excellent wines under $30.
To an extent, the price of a bottle of wine is not proportional to its quality until you hit a certain point, at which you are simply paying for the vintage.
Some of the best wines I've ever tried have been under the $30 mark, and anyone who tries to convince you that price is reflective of quality is either an rodeo cowboy or a salesman.
ha... damn! 22 cases in under an hour? Sh*t! Now that's what I'm talking about... Ben, you have a very nice following here! It's a very powerful negotiation tool whenever you're dealing with future vendors/clients.
I'd like to take credit for 1/44th of that (6 bottles = half case, if I'm not mistaken)
Free shipping and no tax.
Thanks ben
